Heading North
an October tour with Jesse The Tree
When I rapped in Amsterdam earlier this year, I told the crowd, “I always thought my first international show would be in Canada.” Of course I was wrong, but I’m happy to say the time has finally come. This October, Jesse The Tree and I are hitting the road for our Heading North Tour—a four day run through Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Winooski, VT. What started as an off hand “we should do some shows in Canada” at a show in Providence this past January is now a reality, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally do a tour with Jesse. Plus it comes at the perfect time of year for us to convince ourselves the Celtics might even get a 5 or 6 seed this season…………….
Details on each stop below.

HUGE shoutout to everyone who helped get these shows together, in particular Rohan from RMPP, vektrx, Coolman Logan, and Asterisk. If you’re close to any of these cities, make sure to come through (and bring some friends). And if you know people in these spots, please do consider letting them know we’re coming. I promise it’ll be a good time. Check out the flyers at the very bottom for more details.
Before I’m out, I must mention that The Expert just dropped a BEAST of an album called Vivid Visions on Rucksack Records. It features 21(!) MCs from all corners of indie rap, including a pair of appearances from yours truly. I was lucky enough to lend some extra ears (and occasional opinions) throughout the process, and I can confidently say this is a one-of-a-kind record. Do yourself a favor and take a step into the world he’s built—you’ll probably even find a few new rappers to listen to.
One last thing for my NYC people: Another Rap Show #14 is next Thursday October 2nd at Secret Pour, and I must say Duncecap and I continue to outdo ourselves with these lineups. We’ve got Rhys Langston, Another Planet (Phiik & Lungs), Imani Nichele, and Noir Red. $10 at the door. If you’re close by, don’t miss it.
OK, that’s it. Stay safe, stay sane, see you around.
