Once I told Danny (Rucksack Records boss) I’d be in Amsterdam in May, it didn’t take long for our possible dinner plan to morph into a definite scheme to set up a show. And it didn’t take long after that for us to realize how short a flight from Dublin would be. So that’s how the first-ever NAHreally & The Expert show came to be. Sometimes shit just works out.
Major shoutout to Danny and Cian; Black Gold Amsterdam for hosting us; TERILEKST, Jelee, and Raven Kangee & Bonnefooi for being on the bill; and of course everybody who came out to the show. I always thought my first international show would be in Canada, but having it in Amsterdam was such a treat. I absolutely loved the city the first time I went in 2018 and loved it even more this time around.
Be sure to check out the recap video below, shot and edited by 50MMedia (who really captured the scene and nailed that instrumental into live show footage transition).
More BLIP
Moving on to PHYSICAL MEDIA news. To celebrate a year since BLIP came out, Rucksack Records has pressed up another 100 copies on vinyl as well as a small run of 25 cassettes featuring BLIP, FLIP (our remix EP), and BLIPs & Bobs (a sampling of previously unheard beats by The Expert). You can even buy a bundle that includes a SIGNED VINYL + a cassette over at The Expert’s Bandcamp. Hit the link below to get yours.
Thank you all so much for reading and supporting! If you made it this far down, perhaps I can interest you in an interview I did with the inimitable 13-year-old sports reporter Matthew Heiserman about a month ago. I’ve got a feeling I’ll be seeing this guy on ESPN or a Ringer podcast sooner rather than later. And uh…ignore my Celtics predictions….
PEACE.
