Sometimes you record a feature and the song comes out a month later; other times it takes more than a year. I’ve even had a couple people quit rapping before ever dropping a track I did a feature on. So when it started to become clear multiple tracks I lent a verse to would drop (in one way or another) in the same week, I kind of couldn’t believe it. But here we are: four new guest appearances for your listening pleasure. Check them out below, and be sure to check out (and buy???) each album if you like what you hear.
NAHreally & Duncecap - WORK (prod. by k-the-i???)
from Beauty Knows No Pain
Duncecap and I (aka the organizers of Another Rap Show) team up for a long-overdue collaboration to celebrate 10 years of Darko The Super’s label U Don’t Deserve This Beautiful Art. Produced by the legendary k-the-i???, this track and album is available exclusively on the UDDTBA Bandcamp.
Grief Club (Esh & The Isolations x Andrew) - Mournings
from Good Mourning
Grief Club is a duo made up of Esh & The Isolations and Andrew. Their debut album as a group is called Good Mournings, and it’s intense, sad, funny, beautiful, and everything in between. I was lucky enough to get to record my verse on “Mournings” IRL at Esh’s studio while we were on tour together in spring 2024.
ialive - “Infinity Pool”
from Quietism
ialive’s new album, Quietism, is reflective without ever getting too heavy—in large part due to his ear for neck-snapping, bouncy instrumentals. This project has already been in heavy rotation for me, and I have a feeling it’ll stay there. Our track “Infinity Pool” is produced by Garfunkle, one of several talented producers featured on Quietism.
Asterisk - “Stock Footage” (with cropscropscrops)
from No School
No School is a producer album featuring 20 (by my count) different rappers. Showcasing skills both musical and logistical, Greg Davis (aka Asterisk) put together an impressively cohesive sampling of MCs spanning eras and ages. Greg paired me with cropscropscrops on the track “Stock Footage”—a song cropscropscrops and I got to perform together in Burlington, VT, at a show Greg put together on my tour with Wave Generators.
